For renewables, it’s a different story. Solar panels and wind turbines must capture energy from the shining sun and the blowing wind to produce electricity. See, every type of energy storage has its advantages and disadvantages. Some are fast and others slow. Certain materials are polluting and others more sustainable. And while a few can last a long time, most batteries have limited lifespan.

The most common method for short-term energy storage is the lithium-ion battery. There are so many lithium-ion battery startups on the market that it’s hard to keep up. But Joule Case is different from most of the solutions I’ve encountered.
