Remember the Jetsons? The space-age family with a house full of robots and gadgets that did it all? Well, with all of the “smart” appliances we have for our homes today, it seems like the age of the Jetsons has pretty much arrived.

After all, you have an app to control your lights, an app to control your AC and heat, an app for this, an app for that….the list goes on and on. But, that’s the problem. The list goes on and on. Where’s the streamlined version? It feels like the digital Dark Ages sometimes - opening up ten different apps to control ten different things. It can get annoying and cumbersome.

Cue Atmos Smart Home 2.0. They claim to be the true future of smart homes. The Atmos Smart Home Control System is a smart home solution that brings the control of all your connected devices together through simple voice commands and touchscreen navigation. The technology has been in development for two years, and now the product is ready for investors to help launch it.

If you’re like me, you’re a little nervous about having your entire house become “smart” (I just see I-Robot going wrong again on so many different levels). However, my A.I.-wary friends, we are becoming the minority. The smart home market is expected to be valued at $137.91 billion by 2023, and the growth in the number of “smart” devices is projected to exceed that of personal computers by a factor of ten over the next four years. Plus, look at the trendsetters - Google acquired Nest and Dropcam,and Samsung acquired SmartThings. I think it’s safe to stay smart homes are here to stay.
