Fort Defiance, a Red Hook, Brooklyn general store, is raising crowdfunding on Wefunder. The location was home to a beloved restaurant and now has a bright future as a grocery and general store. Fort Defiance General Store started in Spring 2020 as a weekly farm-share pickup and expanded offerings to meet the demands. The store plans to continue to expand to a more versatile menu, bigger selection of home goods, and more capacity for catering events. St John Frizell founded Fort Defiance in 2007. The current crowdfunding round has a minimum goal of $50,000 and a maximum goal of $150,000. The raise proceeds will be used for the relocation of the business, labor and material costs, and new equipment. Fort Defiance has consistently been praised by the press and has an exciting future.
