Kingscrowd’s Advanced Company Search feature provides a powerful way for investors to conduct detailed research, find comparable companies, and analyze past funding rounds. With over 9,000 companies in the database and a wide array of filters, the Advanced Company Search enables targeted investment research for Kingscrowd Edge members. Here’s a guide to get the most out of this feature.

Step 1: Accessing the Advanced Company Search Table

  1. Login to Kingscrowd: Start by logging into your Kingscrowd account.
  2. Open Advanced Company Search: Navigate to the Advanced Company Search table. This will load the complete database of over 9,000 companies.

Step 2: Applying Filters for Targeted Search

  1. Platform Filter: Use the platform filter to narrow your results by specific crowdfunding platforms. For instance, selecting three platforms will display only the companies that have raised funds on those platforms.
  2. Company Name Search: Type part or all of a company name in the search bar to find exact or partial matches. This is especially useful if a company’s name has variations in spelling or formatting.
  3. Status Filter: Filter companies by the status of their raise. You can choose “Funded” to view closed, successful raises or “Active” to see current investment opportunities.

Step 3: Using Kingscrowd Edge Filters

  1. Analyst Report Filter: Kingscrowd Edge members can access additional filters, such as “Top Deals” and rating filters (e.g., deals rated 3 and up).
  2. Additional Financial Filters: Apply filters for valuation, amount raised, annual revenue, and number of investors to refine your search based on financial metrics.
  3. Founder and Social Impact Filters: Filter for companies with specific types of founders (e.g., minority, women, LGBTQ) or social impact goals to align with your values-based investing preferences.

Step 4: Exporting Data for Analysis

  1. Download Filtered Data to CSV: Kingscrowd Edge members can download the filtered data set as a CSV file. This allows you to analyze, sort, and manipulate data in any way you prefer outside the platform.
  2. Save and Bookmark Custom Views: Save your filtered view by bookmarking the link with applied filters. This allows you to return to the same view anytime without reapplying the filters.

Step 5: Viewing Company Details

  1. Expand Company Attributes: Click on any company in the results to see additional details, which may be hidden depending on your screen size or selected filters. This expanded view provides a comprehensive look at each company’s attributes, such as valuation, round details, and founder demographics.
