Minnesota Aurora FC, with a valuation of $6.25 million, is raising funds on Wefunder. It is the first community-owned women’s soccer team in Minnesota in the new USL W League. Minnesota Aurora FC is committed to equality and community and has had wildly successful first three seasons with an average attendance of more than 5,000 fans. The investors get to become legitimate owners of the team, and two members of the board of directors will be elected by the community investors. Minnesotans, including Andrea Yoch, Elisa Vicuna, Wes Burdine, and Allie Reinke, founded Minnesota Aurora FC in March 2021. The current crowdfunding campaign has a minimum target of $250,000 and a maximum target of $1 million. The campaign proceeds will be used for staffing, operations, scholarships and internships, professionalization pursuits, and community events.
