Equal Exchange is raising funds on CrowdFund Mainstreet. The company aims to build alternative trade networks to put the power back in the hands of farmers and eaters. Equal Exchange is trading with small farmer co-ops and supporting farmer-led innovative programs to build a democratic food system with the participation of farmers, workers, and consumers. Jonathan Rosenthal, Rink Dickinson, and Michael Rozyne founded Equal Exchange in February 1986. The current crowdfunding campaign has a minimum target of $100,000 and a maximum target of $1.5 million. The campaign proceeds will be used to fund the acquisition of finished chocolate and tea inventory, green coffee inventory, and nuts and dried fruit inventory, build improvements, and market the company.
