Glow Worm Play Cafe is raising funds on Mainvest to open their second location in the Beechmont neighborhood. The business runs an indoor play area, a cafe, a bakery, community classes, and events. The play cafe provides a safe, clean, and fun environment for kids under the age of six while their caregivers can connect and work in the lounge area. The community classes and events of Glow Worm Play Cafe are open to everyone and are welcoming and inclusive. Their new rental space includes an existing Airbnb which is expected to completely cover their rent as well as over 25% of their monthly expenses. They have a revenue increase of over 35% from 2022 and returns are over 50% of their customer base. Kathryn Read founded Glow Worm Play Cafe in 2023. The current crowdfunding campaign has a minimum target of $90,000 and a maximum target of $124,000. The campaign proceeds will be used for fabrication of play equipment, coffee bar, and seating as well as payroll, architect fees, and cafe equipment.
