Royal Caridea, with a valuation of $8.8 million, is raising funds on Wefunder. It is a shrimp farming company focused on commercializing its transformative shrimp farming technology. The business will use its technology to build its first patented GEN-2, an 8-stacked raceway production system. Royal Caridea produces the Pacific whiteleg shrimp, Penaeus vannamei, and has the capacity to produce them on a continuous and predictable basis. Victoria Goitia and Michael Cunha founded Royal Caridea in June 2009. The current crowdfunding campaign has a minimum target of $75,000 and a maximum target of $1.07 million. The campaign proceeds will be used to prepare the facilities for raceway installation, hire the Marketing Director, increase the marketing budget, and invest in live haul transportation.
