Ordering online. Social media. New apps. It’s almost impossible to avoid entering your personal data online in this day and age. In fact, with the amount of personal information we all have online, you’d think cyber security systems would be ironclad by this point. Impenetrable. Unhackable. And yet...they’re not.
That’s where WitFoo comes into play. Don’t let the name fool you. It’s no goofy cartoon character. No - WitFoo is like the kung-foo of cyber security. It claims to have some karate-style moves and gear to help the good guys win in cyber warfare. A lot of times, information security teams are doing everything they can to prevent data breaches, but due to the amount of noise they are dealing with, the fact that they are understaffed, and that they have more threats than they can look closely at, makes it difficult to beat every threat that comes their way.
WitFoo arms those teams with the weapons they need to win. WitFoo’s product helps reduce the amount of noise and time spent in security investigations, while also allowing teams to prioritize which threats they should focus on. The intuitive interface allows less experienced investigators to quickly understand and respond to complex attacks with reporting from diverse data sources. WitFoo also gathers and provides metrics to show just how hard-working and awesome these security teams really are.
Co-founders Tim Bradford and Charles Herring, and their team, have some kung-foo cyber security experience too. They have a combined 40-plus years of experience in the military, law enforcement, and cyber security, and their current sales pipeline consists of more than $4 million in active opportunities. Current clients also include Nexum and Structured.
So far, WitFoo has earned about $1,000 of their $10,000 minimum goal. They have 52 more days to get there, and maybe they will. The world definitely needs a cyber security kung and wit foo master to help protect our information out there. Time will tell, though, if WitFoo is truly the black belt we are looking for and if it’s wit - and foo-l - proof to invest.
