Atakama, with a valuation of $50 million, is raising funds on Wefunder. The company has developed the technology to protect data and privacy against cyberattacks. Atakama’s platform challenges the status quo of conventional data protection and provides unhackable data security with its distributed encryption key management. The technology locks each piece of data with its own encryption key, and the key is then split across multiple devices. Daniel H. Gallancy and Dimitri Nemirovsky founded Atakama in March 2014. The current crowdfunding campaign has a minimum target of $50,000 and a maximum target of $551,780. The campaign proceeds will be used for salaries, sales and marketing, and advertising.
