Amandla Stenberg. Connor Franta. Logan and Jake Paul. Recognize the names? If you do, it means you’re in tune with your Generation Z crowd. These are online influencer celebrities that folks born between 1999-2015 (Gen Z) know and follow.
SuperdopeTV knows about them too, and, in being true to its name, it claims to know what Gen Z thinks is super dope when it comes to entertainment. SuperdopeTV aims to be both a sketch comedy show and a multi-channel network built for online and traditional TV platforms. They want to create relatable content for Gen Z that provides intelligent, high-quality entertainment formatted to kid-specific interests without being condescending.
SuperdopeTV’s content will consist of five main segments: animated series, celebrities, kids and teens versions of established shows like SNL and Mythbusters, promos and brand sponsored content, and music. Gen Z makes up 26% of the US population, and Z’rs are focusing more on YouTube influencers than traditional TV celebrities. YouTube attracts 30 million visitors each day, and these visitors watch a total of almost five billion videos daily. Combine that with the fact that 71% of teens’ entertainment consumption is through streaming, and you have SuperdopeTV breaking into what could be a super dope (and profitable) new entertainment landscape.
Producer Mychal Simka knows what’s up when it comes to crowdsourced fundraising. His recent regulation crowdfunding campaign raised $500,000 for the films “Adventures of Bunny Bravo” and “Un Conejo de Huevos.” Bunny Bravo is also planned for a SuperdopeTV television series. Partner Barry Katz has extensive TV industry experience too, having been Executive Producer on over 30 specials, documentaries, reality shows, and scripted series.
I can’t tell you for certain if this investment will be super dope, or if you’ll just feel like a super dope for investing. However, this might be your chance to make an investment that’s going to shape the Gen Z future of TV. Plus, as an investor perk, you could be the voice of a new cartoon character - and who wouldn’t want that? You as a cartoon….now that, my friend, could be truly super dope.
